Here, Fussball Server rounds up the latest transfer talk for Chelsea on Tuesday, September 1.
The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Chelsea eye possible reinforcements.
The Blues failed to bring in a single player during the January window, despite seeing their transfer ban cut short by FIFA, but have already been busy this summer.
Here, Fussball Server rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Stamford Bridge.
Tuesday morning’s Chelsea transfer talk news roundup:
Chelsea ‘complete signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz’
Chelsea have reportedly completed the €100m (£90m) signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz and are preparing to make an announcement.
The Blues have already made five signings this year and are looking to further strengthen their squad ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
Havertz has been strongly linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks and, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a deal is now over the line.
Romano claims that the Germany international agreed terms with Chelsea last week and the Premier League side have matched Leverkusen’s valuation.
However, Havertz is supposedly still to undergo a medical, which is the final hurdle to clear before an official announcement can be made.
Speaking on Monday, Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz confirmed that he does not expect Havertz to play for the German club again.
Havertz will become Chelsea’s sixth signing of 2020, following the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr.
Arsenal ‘to rival Chelsea for £25m Said Benrahma’
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to battle Chelsea for the signature of Brentford’s Said Benrahma.
The 25-year-old was in impressive form for his Championship club during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 17 times and contributing 10 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.
The Algeria international is expected to be on the move during this summer’s transfer window, and Chelsea, alongside a number of Premier League clubs, have been credited with an interest.
However, according to 90min, Arsenal are also firmly in the hunt for a player who has netted 28 goals and provided 27 assists in 91 outings for Brentford since arriving from Nice in 2018.
The report claims that the Gunners are prepared to meet the £25m asking price for the attacker as Mikel Arteta looks to boost his options in the final third for the 2020-21 campaign.
Benrahma largely operates as a left winger but also featured on the right for the Bees last term.
