Here, Fussball Server rounds up the latest transfer talk for Barcelona on Sunday, September 6.
The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Barcelona eye possible reinforcements.
The Spanish champions spent big on Antoine Griezmann last summer but missed out on a big-name striker in January and have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, meaning that selling players rather than buying could be their priority this summer.
Here, Fussball Server rounds up the latest transfer news from the Camp Nou.
Sunday morning’s Barcelona transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United to consider Pau Torres move?
Manchester United could reportedly move for Villarreal defender Pau Torres this summer.
The Red Devils are allegedly in the market for a new central defender due to the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, but it is understood that the Frenchman will not be joining the Red Devils before the October deadline.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could consider a move for Villarreal’s Torres in the coming weeks.
The 23-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 campaign for the Yellow Submarine, contributing two goals and two assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
The Spain international, who has also previously been linked with Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona, is believed to have a €50m (£45.6m) release clause in his current deal at Estadio de la Ceramica.
United are due to start their 2020-21 Premier League season at home to Crystal Palace on September 19.
Manchester United, Liverpool ‘on red alert for Antoine Griezmann’
Manchester United and Liverpool are both reportedly monitoring the developments surrounding Antoine Griezmann as the Frenchman’s Barcelona future has been thrown into fresh doubt.
Griezmann looked set for a main role for Barca next term with Lionel Messi seemingly on the way out.
Messi announced on Friday that he had reversed his decision to leave the club, though, meaning that Griezmann could be sold during this summer’s transfer window to balance the books.
According to the Daily Mail, Man United and Liverpool are keeping an eye on developments, while Arsenal have also been credited with a potential interest in the 2018 World Cup winner.
The report, though, claims that Barca ‘would have to accept a major loss’ on Griezmann if they wish to move him on before the transfer deadline at the start of October.
The 29-year-old struggled to show his best form for the Catalan giants during the 2019-20 campaign, although he still managed 15 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions.
Griezmann, who missed a late penalty in France’s 1-0 win over Sweden in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday night, has a contract at Camp Nou until June 2024.
