Monday morning’s Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Tottenham Hotspur ‘in talks over deal for Joshua King’
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in talks a potential deal for Bournemouth forward Joshua King.
The 28-year-old’s contract at the Vitality Stadium is due to expire next June, and he is widely expected to leave the Cherries in the current transfer window following their relegation to the Championship.
Manchester United were linked with the Norway international in January as they looked to boost their attack, but the Red Devils ultimately brought Odion Ighalo to Old Trafford on loan.
According to talkSPORT, Tottenham are currently in talks over a possible deal for the versatile attacker, who scored six times and registered four assists in 27 appearances for Bournemouth last term.
The report claims that King’s agent has held discussions with Spurs as Jose Mourinho’s side look to bring in a back-up option for Harry Kane ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The Norwegian has struck 50 times in 170 appearances for the Cherries in all competitions.
Manchester United, Liverpool to battle for RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka?
Manchester United have reportedly joined Premier League rivals Liverpool in showing an interest in Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
The 21-year-old starred for the Austrian outfit last season, scoring 24 goals in 31 games as they won their domestic league for the seventh year in a row despite losing Erling Braut Haaland to Borussia Dortmund in January.
Daka played against Liverpool in the Champions League last season and more recently impressed against Jurgen Klopp’s side in a pre-season friendly, scoring twice in a 2-2 draw.
The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool have been mulling over a move but could now face competition from Manchester United, who have also identified the forward as a possible target.
Salzburg are thought to want at least £20m for Daka, who only signed a new five-year contract last year.
Current Liverpool players Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino have all featured for Salzburg in the past.
